Spiritual health and resilience: A correlation study among Indian adults

Abstract:

Background: Spiritual health is a dynamic aspect of health that provides meaning to the life and promotes quality of life. On the other hand resilience is a power of a person to look ahead in difficult time. It is actually adaptation that a person develops during the time of challenges which enables to achieve aim as well as developing a wonderful state of mind that enhance confidence and positive outlook.
Objectives: Determine the relationship between spiritual health and resilience as well as it is helpful in preventing suicide by developing hope, sense of connection and belongingness.
Methods: This correlational study spiritual health and resilience among Indian students age 19-24 select with simple random sampling. Spiritual health scale by Akbar Hussain and Resilience tool by Connor-Davidson-15 used to fulfill the aim of the study. Statistical tool SPSS 16.0 were used to analyzed the data.
Results: Spiritual health and resilience are positively and significantly correlated among Indian youth and no significant difference among male and female on resilience while significant difference found on spiritual health.
Conclusion: Positive relationship of spiritual health with resilience help the students to cope with the negative situations of life and it was recommended that high spiritual attitude more adjustable and comfortable future.
