Role of school type in student well-being

Abstract:

The present study aims to explore the role of different types of school and their link with students' well-being state. School environment plays a vital role in reducing stress levels and fostering a sense of calmness, which significantly contributes to the overall well-being and mental health of students. The study was conducted with 200 students (100 male & 100 female) with aged 13-18 years (Mean of age = 15.09). The samples were collected through purposive sampling method from 3 private and 3 government of Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh. General Well-being Scale (Kalia & Deswal, 2011) was used to collect data. The results of the study indicated that there were found a significant difference in government and private school students on emotional wellbeing as well as school wellbeing. There was no significant difference observed on overall wellbeing score across these schools.
